This report by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is an early summary report for its Worst Case Housing Needs 2011: Report to Congress. The full report will be released in April 2013. The period from 2009 to 2011 saw an increase in worst case housing needs, from 7.1 million in 2009 to the current 8.5 million, that did not discriminate based on demographic group or region.
