National Survey of Child & Adolescent Well-Being–Baseline Report

The report is an analysis of data from the second National Survey of Child & Adolescent Well-Being (NSCAW II), a longitudinal study examining the functioning, service, needs and service use of children who come in contact with the child welfare system. The study includes 5,873 children ages birth to 17.5 years at the time of selection for the study sample. The sample was selected from children involved in child welfare investigations that closed between February 2008 and April 2009 in 83 counties nationwide. The sample includes substantiated and unsubstantiated investigations of abuse or neglect . . .
