Chambers et al. v. San Francisco
November 27, 2007 The lawsuit, Chambers et al. v. San Francisco, originated in October 2006 on the claim that residents at Laguna Honda who had been found able to live independently were still being confined at the facility. The plaintiffs argued that this was a violation of a provision of the Americans with Disabilities Act that requires those with disabilities be provided services in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.
