On February 19, 2024, the Oregon Senate published this engrossed senate bill (SB) 1522 relating to individuals with intellectual disabilities and declaring an emergency. The Act repeals the statutes that allowed a person to be ordered by a court to stay in a facility against their will on the basis of having an intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD).
