February 21, 2012
Iowa is in the process of redesigning how counties provide services for people with behavioral health disorders or developmental disabilities. This legislation includes amendments to the initial redesign bill. It describes mental health and disability services regional service systems and all the components to be included in the initial core service domains. Treatment designed to ameliorate a person's condition will include assessment and evaluation, mental health inpatient treatment, mental health outpatient therapy and medication prescribing and management.
