San Diego Unified School District Letter To Parents About Changes To The Special Education Program

On February 21, 2017, the Superintendent, and the Executive Director of Special Education of San Diego Unified school district released this letter regarding the San Diego Unified Special Education program. The letter notifies parents that some elementary school and K-8 moderate-severe classrooms will be combined into neighborhood cluster classrooms starting with the 2017-2018 school year.

Combining classes is a result of underenrollment in these moderate-severe classes, and concerns about these small classrooms resulting in very restrictive learning environments that do not allow life and classroom skill development.
