Texas Civil Commitment Outpatient Sexually Violent Predator Treatment Program

This document released by the Texas Office of Violent Sex Offender Management (OVSOM) in February 2014 describes the state's programming for violent sex offenders who have served their sentences, but who are then civilly committed to OVSOM custody because they are considered too dangerous to release. OVSOM oversees about 320 sex offenders under civil commitment; about half live in the community in contracted residences and receive outpatient treatment.
