Ohio DODD Agency-Only Model Fact Sheet: What These Changes Mean for Me

In this summary released in February 2015, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) summarized the provisions of a pending change in Ohio Medicaid policies for most of its home and community-based services (HCBS) waivers. The new policy will not apply to self-directed waivers. The state is moving an Agency-Only model, meaning that it will only reimburse for services delivered by a professional affiliated with a provider organization. More than 13,000 independent professionals certified to serve waiver participants will be affected by the new policy. Beginning July 1, 2019, Ohio Medicaid will only accept HCBS waiver . . .
