South Carolina DHHS Memo To Mental Health & Rehabilitation Clinics About Provider Qualifications For Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services

On March 1, 2016, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) notified Medicaid Mental Health and Rehabilitation Clinics that it was changing policies for Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBHS) to limit the types of mental health professionals eligible to deliver RBHS. The state’s goal is to correct wording in the state Medicaid plan that allowed for misinterpretation about the professional credentials required to deliver the services. The new policy went into effect on April 1, 2016.
