Indiana FSSA Overview: Project CREATE

On March 1, 2022, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) published this overview of Project CREATE (COVID Related Emergency Access to Therapeutic Environments). The statewide inpatient competency restoration pilot program was intended to transition appropriate county jail inmates found incompetent to stand trial to participating inpatient psychiatric provider organizations. Project CREATE was one of several pilot approaches FSSA implemented to reduce the waitlist for forensic competency restoration services provided by a state hospital.
