On March 2, 2021, Virginia Medicaid released this memo regarding enhanced behavioral health services under Project BRAVO: Behavioral Health Redesign For Access, Value & Outcomes. Under BRAVO, the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services will increase Medicaid behavioral health reimbursement rates to providers and cover additional behavioral health services. Effective July 1, 2021, the state will cover assertive community treatment, mental health partial hospitalization programs, and mental health intensive outpatient programs. Effective December 1, 2021, the state will cover family therapy, mobile crisis, and residential crisis stabilization services, among other services . . .
