Florida 2012 House Bill HB5301

On March 29 2012, Governor Rick Scott of Florida signed Florida House Bill 5301 into law. The bill contains several important provisions related to Medicaid and health care services. Among the various provisions, the legislation limits Medicaid payment for hospital emergency room services for non- pregnant adults to 6 visits per year. It also directs the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to develop and implement a prospective payment system for Medicaid payments to hospitals based on diagnosis-related groups (DRGs).
