Florida Board Of Medicine Final Rule 64B8-9.0141 Standards for Telemedicine Practice
Florida’s rules on telemedicine have not been amended since 2003. In 2013, the Florida Board of Medicine convened a Telemedicine Workgroup to review its rules on telemedicine to consider how the rules should change to account for remote robotic surgery and video conferencing. On January 15, 2014, the Florida Board of Medicine released a proposed rule for new appropriate standards for telemedicine practice, and the new rules went into effect on March 12, 2014.
