North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance Behavioral Health Services Update On 1915 (b)(c) Waiver Expansion March 2013

The presentation about the status of the 1915 (b)(c) waiver expansion was given by Kelly Crosbie, LCSW, assistant director for the North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA), Behavioral Health Services. In this presentation, Ms. Crosbie reported that 99 out of 100 counties had transitioned to the waiver, with the last two public behavioral health system managed care organizations, CostalCare and MeckLink Behavioral Healthcare going live in March 2013. DMA planned to make contract changes to include requirements from a settlement agreement with the United States Department of Justice, and to implement performance-based contracting.
