On March 14, 2026, the Washington Legislature published the engrossed text of Senate Bill (SB) 5872 - 2025-2026, which establishes the Pre-Kindergarten Promise Account. This bill establishes the PreK Promise Account in the custody of the state Treasurer. It can accept private funds to be used to support the state's Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
