An Audit Report on Procurement for Terrell State Hospital Operations at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and the Department of State Health Services

On March 25, 2015, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) canceled its plan to privatize operations of the 288-bed Terrell State Hospital and the tentative award it made in October 2014 to GEO Care, LLC. The cancellation was announced the same day as the State Auditor’s Office issued a report critical of the procurement process HHSC followed.
