The report was released in March 2015 by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The OIG reviewed Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) claims in five states for second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs) prescribed to children ages 0 to 17. The OIG selected a sample of 687 claims for SGAs prescribed between January 1, and June 30, 2011 to children in California, Florida, Illinois, New York, and Texas.
