Disability Rights California IDEA Complaint Against Oakland Unified School District & California Department of Education
On March 16, 2015, on behalf of 10 special education students enrolled in the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), Disability Rights California filed a complaint against the district and the California Department of Education for violations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The complaint alleges that OUSD’s policies and practices result in system-wide violations of the rights of children with disabilities under the IDEA.
