California Department Of Managed Health Care Routine Medical Survey Of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Behavioral Health Services

Between January and July 2012, the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) conducted a routine medical survey of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Behavioral Health Services. The assessment takes place every three years and covers the health planÂ’s quality management, grievances and appeals, access and availability of services, utilization management, and continuity of care. DMHC found deficiencies in how Kaiser reported average wait times for an appointment and that average wait times were longer than allowed by state law.
