Researchers with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analyzed data from the 14 Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network sites in the United States to assess changes in the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The ADDM data does not rely on professional or family reporting of an exsiting ASD diagnosis or classification; rather it is from multiple data sources ranging from general pediatric health clinics to specialized programs for children with developmental disabilities.
