March 20, 2008 This bill would establish a Developmental Disabilities Special Investigative Committee, which would consist of seven members of the Legislature appointed by the Executive Board. The Developmental Disabilities Special Investigative Committee would study: Quality of care and related staffing issues at the Beatrice State Developmental Center The placement and quality of care statewide for the developmentally disabled in Nebraska The staffing practices at twenty-four-hour care facilities The Department of Health and Human Services with respect to such facilities.
