On April 2, 2012, the Nebraska legislature voted to override Nebraska Governor Dave Heinemans veto of a $2.5 million budget measure that would have permitted the state to reimburse 50 child welfare provider organizations that had subcontracted with lead agency Boys and Girls Home and were left unpaid when the agency lost its state contract in October 2010.
