North Carolina Senate Bill 594: Family/Child Protection & Accountability Act
On April 4, 2017, the North Carolina Senate released Senate Bill 594: Family/Child Protection and Accountability Act. The bill reforms the state's child welfare system by:
improving accountability and state oversight;
requiring development of a plan for a regional system of social services departments;
establishing a child well-being transformation council to improve coordination, collaboration, and communication among child-serving agencies;
