2008 Revised Texas Promoting Independence Plan
February 2009 This is the third revision of Texas' original plan, submitted in 2001, to comply with the Supreme Court's 1999 Olmstead ruling. The revised plan reports the implementation status of previous plans in the following areas: Appropriate care settings for persons with disabilities Provision of a system of services and supports that foster independence and productivity, including meaningful opportunities for a person with a disability to live in the most appropriate care setting Analysis of the availability, application, and efficacy of existing community-based supports for individuals with disabilities . . .
