Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration Fiscal Year 2014 Budget – Congressional Justification

The federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) proposed a $3.34 billion 2014 budget that includes $130 million allocated to implement new youth-focused mental health prevention and treatment initiatives recommended in the President’s “Now Is The Time” plan released in January 2013. The 2014 budget is 0.6% (about $20 million) less than the $3.36 billion 2013 budget, adopted at the end of February 2013.
