April 11, 2008 It is recognized that integrating new types of services in healthcare systems is a challenging task. The aim of this report is to support and encourage Member States in this endeavor, by identifying and helping to address the main barriers hindering the wider use of telemedicine and by providing evidence to build trust and acceptance. The Communication defines a set of actions to be taken by Member States, the Commission and the broader stakeholders' community.
