Kansas House Bill 2506: K-12 Education—Appropriations & School Finance

The legislation, House Bill (HB 2506), appropriates for the 2014-2015 school year, an additional $109.3 million for supplemental general state aid for elementary and secondary public schools and transferred revenue $25.2 million from the state general fund to the capital outlay fund. HB 2506 also makes changes to the school finance formula, changes the base student aid minimum from $4,492 to $3,838 per student, amends the due process rights of teachers, and creates a tuition scholarship program for low-income students . . .
