Recidivism Of Prisoners Released In 30 States In 2005: Patterns From 2005 To 2010
In this report released April 16, 2014, statisticians with the federal Bureau of Justice Statistics reviewed five-year recidivism data for 404,638 state prisoners from 30 states released back to the community in 2005. The goal was to update earlier reports that tracked recidivism rates for three years following release. The longer recidivism window provides an assessment of the number and types of crimes committed by the cohort of released prisoners during the years following release.
