On April 18, 2022, the California Senate published this Senate Bill (SB) 349, an act relating to substance abuse., which became law the same day. The legislation requires that addiction treatment provider organizations adopt and provide a consumer bill of rights. The goal is to ensure that consumers seeking addiction treatment are afforded basic rights and protections in a treatment setting that is safe and ethical.
