Kansas Laws & Regulations for Licensing Family Foster Homes for Children
March 2008 New regulations governing family foster homes were adopted by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. They became effective on March 28, 2008. The new regulations are the first update to the states licensing and care standards since the 1980s, and they incorporate changes to federal regulations created by the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006. The new regulations also provide a foundation for standards of care that give support and guidance to foster parents in providing activities, supervision, and care in healthy and safe environments . . .
