Medicare Program; Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Prospective Payment System-Update For Fiscal Year Beginning October 1, 2015 (FY 2016)

The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed rule on May 1, 2015. Comments will be accepted until June 23, 2015; the 2016 inpatient psychiatric facility (IPF) prospective payment system (PPS) rates will go into effect for discharges on or after October 1, 2015. CMS proposed using a new IPF-specific rate-setting system to calculate per diem rates.
