This is the plaintiffs’ notice of motion and motion for class action certification for case #4:09-cv-05796-CW. Plaintiffs are Georg Ruiz, et al., on their own behalf and on the behalf of a class of similarly situated prisoners v. defendants California governor Edmund G. Brown, et al. from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The plaintiffs are suing because of their incarceration at California’s Pelican Bay State Prison’s Security Housing Unit for long periods of time without meaningful review of their placement.
