Alabama Senate Bill 340 is an act related to a reform of the Medicaid Agency to provide for the delivery of services to Medicaid beneficiaries on a managed care basis through regional care organizations or alternate care providers. The bill, sponsored by state Senator Greg Reed, requires the Medicaid Agency to split the state into geographic regions, each with a regional care organization or alternate care provider, in order to cover the entire stateÂ’s Medicaid population. Dual eligibles are excluded from mandatory enrollment.
