In this final rule released May 12, 2014, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is the second in a set of rules adopted by CMS in response to an executive order to conduct a retrospective review of regulations in order to streamline Medicare and Medicaid regulations for hospitals and other providers. The rule eliminates a previous requirement that physicians travel to critical access hospitals (CAHs), rural health clinics (RHCs), and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) at least once every two weeks . . .
