Texas Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Programs: Performance Assessment Report School Year 2010-2011

May 15, 2012
The Texas Juvenile Justice Department reported outcomes for its Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Programs (JJAEPs) during the 2010-2011 school year. These programs provide education for students expelled from traditional schools; Texas started the programs for the 1996-1997 school year. The 2010-2011 outcomes indicate that student outcomes in the JJAEPs have improved over time. Their test scores are higher, operational costs are lower, and student behavior has improved.
