CBO’s May 2013 Estimate Of The Effects Of The Affordable Care Act On Health Insurance Coverage

The Congressional Budget Office projected in May 2013 that for the 2014 plan year, seven million people would enroll in a health insurance marketplace plan and that six million would be receiving a subsidy, with the average subsidy at $5,290 per subsidized enrollee. By 2017, the CBO projects that 24 million people will obtain health insurance through the marketplaces and that 20 million will receive subsidies. The average subsidy per enrollee is projected at $5,590.
