The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and The Commonwealth of Virginia released a memorandum of understanding establishing a partnership that will coordinate long-term care and other services for dually eligible Virginians covered by both Medicare and Medicaid programs. The three-year pilot project, called Commonwealth Coordinated Care, will allow more than 78,000 Virginians to use one ID card for Medicare and Medicaid services, marking a change that will allow the state to potentially expand coverage to hundreds of thousands of people under the Affordable Care Act.
