The Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Health and Human Services' report summarizes the steps the departments have taken to ensure that veterans, service members, and their families receive mental health services and supports. These steps were taken following an executive order by the President on August 31, 2012, and include strengthening suicide prevention, enhancing access to mental health care, increasing the number of Veterans Affairs mental health providers, and promoting mental health research.
