In this report released on May 29, 2015, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) analyzed steps taken by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to control fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicaid program. For this report, the GAO was asked to review beneficiary and provider enrollment-integrity efforts at selected states: Arizona, Florida, Michigan, and New Jersey. The report findings identify and analyze indicators of improper or potentially fraudulent payments in fiscal year 2011.
