Funding Announcement For Partnerships to Demonstrate the Effectiveness of Supportive Housing for Families in the Child Welfare System

On May 30, 2012, the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and three private foundations announced a $35M five-year initiative to take place in five cities that will provide supportive housing and social services to families with children at-risk of entering foster care. The cities will be selected through a competitive application process. The goal is to provide families with a permanent home and the supportive services needed to keep the family intact, reduce contact with the child welfare system overall, reduce the incidence of maltreatment, as well as increasing the familyÂ’s housing . . .
