PricewaterhouseCoopers Health Research Institute reports that medical costs are expected to rise in 2010, although at a slower rate than in the past. The recession, ongoing market changes in health care, and the prospect of industry reform will help temper medical costs; a flat to slightly decelerating trend is expected. Health care reform is expected to have only minimal short-term impact but may sustain pressure on medical pricing in 2010.
