In June 2013, the Mental Health Commission of Canada published a set of recommendations for a comprehensive, principle-based and evidence-informed system of care that supports family caregivers. The Guidelines are intended to advise system planners, policy makers and service providers in planning, implementing and evaluating mental health care services that recognize and address the unique needs of family caregivers.
