The report was released on June 2, 2022. The annual report presents the financial solvency of the two trust funds that support the federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) and federal Disability Insurance (DI) trust funds. The OASI pays retirement and survivors benefits. The trustees project it will be able to pay scheduled benefits on a timely basis until 2034. The DI trust fund, which pays disability benefits, is no longer projected to be depleted within the 75-year projection period . . .
