Incentives for Nondiscriminatory Wellness Programs in Group Health Plans

The Internal Revenue Service, Employee Benefits Security Administration, and Health and Human Services DepartmentÂ’s rule provides regulations for nondiscriminatory wellness programs in group health coverage, in line with the Affordable Care Act. The regulations increase maximum permissible rewards under a health-contingent wellness program, such as those designed to prevent or reduce tobacco use, offered in connection with a group health plan.
