May 7, 2008 This bill was signed into law May 12, 2008. It reduces the amount of time the Department of Economic Security must wait to terminate parental rights for a child under the age of three. Parental rights can be terminated for a child who has been in foster care for a cumulative total period of six months or more and whose parent has not remedied the circumstances related to the child's removal, including refusal to participate in reunification services . . .
