Maine Legislative Document 769: An Act Regarding Access To Behavioral Health Supports For Adults With Certain Disabilities
The legislation was signed on June 12, 2025. It amends Maine laws governing access to behavioral health supports and the planned use of restraints or safety devices for adults with an intellectual disability or autism. The planned use of restraints and safety devices is now prohibited, but they can still be used on a short-term emergency basis.
