The New Mexico Behavioral Health Interagency Purchasing Collaborative (Collaborative) met to discuss next steps for improving the state's public behavioral health system following an extensive compliance audit of 15 provider organizations that serve 85% of people receiving public behavioral health treatment. The audit revealed that all 15 organizations were out of compliance between July 2009 and December 2012, and that about 25% of claims submitted during that period, should not have been submitted or paid.
