Modernizing SSA Disability Programs: Progress Made, but Key Efforts Warrant More Management Focus (GAO-12-420)

In June 2012, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report on the Social Security Administration (SSA) and program made to modernize disability programs. The GAO found that SSA has taken steps to improve the process for updating medical criteria. The GAO included three recommendations in the report for SSA.
