Implementation Guidelines to Assure Security and Interoperability

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has released guidelines for establishing interoperability to "easily and securely exchange patient health information" under Stage 2 of the meaningful use program, and to provide recommended policies and practices for health information service providers (HISPs), trust communities and accrediting bodies, such as DirectTrust.
