On June 22, 2022, the federal Department of Justice (DOJ) released this letter of findings regarding the case of U.S. v. State of Maine to the state of Maine. In the letter, the DOJ reported the outcomes of its investigation of the state's behavioral health services for children. The DOJ concluded that the state violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by failing to provide services to children in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.
